Day 3
Today was okay. I walked 5 laps around the 9th floor and met another guy my age who is here for a little while. Brian bought be a pedometer so I can track my mileage. You all know I’m a serious Type A athlete who needs to be able to track these types of things. I’m going for 3 miles to begin with. I’ll let you know how many laps that is when I figure it out.
Robyn also came to visit and brought me a near life-size poster of Phaedra on the horse-bike from Earth Day. For those of you who don’t know about my son’s school’s earth day activities, the parents put together a bike, covered with a horse, and when pedaled, it was supposed to power a blender to make smoothies. I wasn’t there that day but I have heard that Phaedra was one of the few with enough leg strength to actually pull this off. If that’s not the case, don’t blame the messenger, I heard it from Robyn.
I also received a beautifully stickered gift bag from Anya, Trevor and Leo that included delicious lollipops and a pad of humorous notes for each day. I’ll leave you with this one …
Just take it one earth-shattering crisis at a time
My sister-in-law Gigi sent me your blog link. It’s beautiful. I’ll be praying for you and your family. You’re very lucky to have Gigi on your team.
Ha, ha. That beer glass is bigger than Phaedre’s head!!! Beer on school grounds! Tsk, tsk.
LOL….looove the beer glass.
That picture is awesome! Yes, Phaedre was Queen of the smoothies that day! We were all joking about how that ‘Pony Blender Contraption” would do at a Phaedre and Tito party : ) That is just classic!!!
…yes, hope you don’t mind – I was singing your laurels about how incredible your site was and referred my sister-in-law to it. She is very involved in Relay for Life and is walking soon…she recently had a great party and raised $500 towards cancer research.
Ok, so some elements of the photo were doctored…
Jess-
Are you getting your emails or FB stuff? I talked to Let’s Dish and you can look at the June Ready-Made Menu and start thinking about what you might want. You can fill out an order form (I think) or just let me know and we can pick stuff up. Let’s Dish is going to keep track of how much credit there is and you can use it over time or whenever you want.
