Day 97

September5

I saw the kids today!!!! I was so happy. They both came running across this big field and dove into my arms with big hugs and kisses. I guess they still remember me ;) In all seriousness, we had a really nice time playing in a park across the street from the hospital. Ty was as sweet as could be and Kieran was his crazy, usual self, but adorable all the same. The visit will keep me going for the remaining days I need to be here. They’re little faces are a great reminder of why I am fighting so hard to get through this.

My white counts still haven’t gone up but the platelet transfusion I did last night gave me another big jump. Any day now my white count should start climbing and I’ll be safe to go home. I don’t think I’ll be going home tomorrow, but hopefully later in the week. If I can make it home by Friday, I’ll be happy. Obviously the sooner the better.

I also want to thank Roseann for coming by to do Reiki with me. I have no idea what she does or how it works, but I always feel more at peace when she is finished. Our session today was, as Roseann said, full of positive energy. I know part of that is the boost from seeing my kids, but let’s also hope it is my bone marrow working hard to rebuild.

Yeah! I am so glad you got to see the boys! It’s amazing what our children’s smiling faces and hugs can do for a lonely heart. That boost will carry you to the end of the week. You can do it! You are almost there! Warm, strong hugs!

Talking about the boys in the park made me smile! I’m glad you had a good visit…Yes, they are adorable!
Next Sunday, another stranger will honor you. My friend, Kathy, who is a cancer survivor will be walking the path of the Boston Marathon. (26.2 miles). It is the annual Jimmy Fund Walk, but she will be walking for you. I thought you should know. Perhaps you will be home by then!
