Day 96

September4

I have settled into the idea of being here for a while longer. The doctors and nurses are actually being very supportive – they know how desperately I want to get home to see my kids and they are just trying to do everything to keep me safe and healthy. As of this morning my white blood counts were still really low so we’re still waiting for that boost to happen. I had my second dose of neupogen today so we would hope to see my counts go up tomorrow.

I had a great visit with my sister-in-law Stephanie today. She taught me how to crochet, which I am not very good at but willing to keep working at. Hillary also came to visit tonight and brought me an insanely sugary but absolutely delicious cookie from Suzanne. Thanks to both of you :)

If you can have “quality” time talking to your kids over video chat, I feel like I finally got some of that tonight. Often times I speak to them in the middle of the day when they are distracted and not always enthusiastic about talking at length with me. Tonight they were more interested and I got some one-on-one time talking to Ty who did a puppet show for me. I’m hoping to see them tomorrow for a visit.

I’m grateful to have my nurse Trish all weekend, though I know she would rather have off to enjoy the beautiful weather. Having her around always boosts my morale and I really need that right now.

Off to rest to have another platelet transfusion. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
