I wish I could say I remember most of today, but I don’t. I am now on Oxycodone every 4 hours and the combination of that and some of my antibiotics is making me very nauseous so I am also on a variety of anti-nausea meds too. All of these things are wiping me out completely.  I did make it up a couple of times today. Once for shower and once for a little exercise around the halls. Other than that, I have fallen asleep eating, reading, texting – you name it out.

I had a great staff this weekend though. Sometimes I’m not crazy about the weekend nurses, but I got lucky and had great girls this weekend. The on-call infectious disease doctor was also pretty reassuring. He said that based on how the infection started, where is started, when it started and how it is presenting now, they are fairly confident they know what they are dealing with and the needle aspiration tomorrow should just confirm that. The good news is that staying on the pain meds regularly is helping with that part of it and I’m keeping my fingers-crossed that maybe the antibiotics are actually doing something too. Oh, and in hilarious irony, gory detail of the day – guess who’s back on meds for the potty? Yes, all of the things I’m taking cause constipation. But PLEASE don’t bring me any fiber!

Okay, I’m off to sleep. For whatever reason I got a little kick of energy to write this at 1:30 in the morning. It’s now 2 am and they’ll be waking me up in 2 hours for bloodwork, so I might as well go to sleep. More news tomorrow …
