This is Brian. Jess woke up this morning with terrible back pain (liver). So much so, she was in tears. We immediately called the doctor and headed downtown to the hospital. I spent most of the morning with her as they started to run tests and gave her a blood transfusion. At about lunch time, I left to head over to work, since they got the pain under control.  Also,  the results would take a few hours to get back and she was just relaxing.  At about 5 pm, she called and told me that they were going to admit her for the weekend.  Turns out that her infection had gotten significantly worse. Polyps (or something like them) which were quite small had grown quite large and had spread. According to Jess this is manageable, but they needed to give her some intense antibiotics – even more so than what she was just on. They were also going to give her plenty of happy time drugs to help with pain.

The good news is that she also got the results back from the bone marrow biopsy she had done on Wednesday and she is officially still in remission. Yay!

Well, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up.  As of right now, since this is so sudden, she doesn’t have her laptop or even clothes for that matter.  For the record, I offered to grab her bags this morning which are currently packed and ready to go… but she didn’t think she would need them.

I will be getting her the stuff she needs tomorrow, so hopefully she will be able to update this herself this weekend.  Also, she was told that she SHOULD be able to come back home again on Monday.  Cross your fingers!
